This Privacy Policy describes how Custom Everyday Leather (“the App”) handles information. The App is a workshop notebook for leather and fabric makers. It does not require an account or a password.

1. Who we are

The App is operated by Hattie Ebbage. Questions about privacy can be sent to the email address above.

2. Information we process

Most project data stays on your device: projects, photos, inventory, notes and patterns you create locally. When the App is online, the following may be sent to our server at jab.cutomeverydayleather.cc:

• Anonymous device identifier — a random ID stored in the device Keychain. It is not your name, Apple ID or email. We use it to recognise the same installation.
• Display name and craft focus — only if you enter them (for example “Maker”, leather / fabric / both).
• Workshop statistics — counts such as finished and active projects, panels cut, material area used, and minutes spent at the bench.
• History of workshop activity — bench sessions (date and duration), pattern starts, custom patterns you publish from the App, and related event metadata.
• Pattern catalogue requests — so the App can download patterns and the pattern of the day.
• Contact messages — if you use Contact in the App: your name, email address and message, together with the anonymous device tag.
• Optional community content — if you post a finished piece, we store the title, category, material, hours, note and photo you choose to upload.

We do not ask for payment details, precise GPS location, contacts, or access to your photo library beyond pictures you explicitly import into a project.

3. Why we process it

• To provide the App: catalogue, daily pattern, saved history and statistics across launches.
• To respond to messages you send through Contact.
• To keep the service reliable (rate limits, abuse prevention, backups of server data).

We do not sell personal data. We do not use the data to build advertising profiles or to show third-party ads.

4. Legal basis

Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we process this information because it is needed to provide the service you request (performance of a contract) and, for optional messages and posts, because you choose to send them (consent / your request). Server logs needed to operate the host may also be processed as a legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.

5. Storage and retention

Local data remains on your device until you delete the App or use Reset Data. Server-side history, statistics, contact messages and optional posts are kept while the service is operated, unless you ask us to delete them. You can request deletion by emailing hattie.ebbage@icloud.com from the address you used, or by describing your device tag if you have it.

6. Sharing

We do not share your information with advertisers. Hosting, storage and delivery of the API may be provided by infrastructure vendors acting on our instructions. We may disclose information if required by law.

7. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. International transfers

The server may be hosted in a country different from yours. By using the online features you understand that your information may be processed there, with safeguards appropriate to the hosting provider.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction or deletion of personal data we hold, or object to certain processing. Contact Hattie Ebbage at hattie.ebbage@icloud.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use of the App after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
